ONE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT REVEALED IN NINE MANIFESTATIONS

Note that it is not written "But the fruits of the spirit are...". But instead the accuracy of God's Word reads: "But the fruit of the spirit is..."

It is worth noting that the word "fruit" is singular, not plural, because there is just one fruit of the spirit which has 9 manifestations (the manifestations of the spiritual fruit). These nine manifestations of the fruit of the spirit listed in Galatians 5: 22 and 23 are not to be considered as individual fruit, but each of thease nine are the way the fruit of the spirit manifests itself in a Christian's life.

The Fruit of the spirit is actually a term used to sum up nine visible attributes of a true Christian life. They are nine manifestions of a single fruit are: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control as recorded in Galatians 5: 22 and 23.

Note too that these are not individual ‘fruits’ that we pick and choose but one-ninefold fruit that is ‘a physical manifestation of a Christian’s transformed life. It is Christ living in us and transforming us. We can display this fruit only when we have Christ living in us.
